The Pollinator Conservation Association is working with a variety of partners including New York State, Erie County, the Niagara River Greenway Commission, Buffalo State College, the Our Outer Harbor Coalition and a wide variety of other public, not for profit, and public sector property owners and advocates for pollinators, to designate and protect parcels in our Great Lakes Region.  We will have links to places on the page as they are developed and or designated.

Buffalo's Outer Harbor

One of the PCA's concentrations in the Niagara Greenway is the Outer Harbor of Buffalo, the western gateway to the Niagara River Greenway.  This area is a sensitive shoreline region that has critical links to birds, pollinators, rare plants, and climate resilience. It is also a great place for recreation and for promoting human interactions with a profound nature that helps to characterize the wilderness off shore.  The PCA is engaged to help conserve and develop conservation plans for this important place.

The Bell Slip Nature Preserve on Buffalo's Outer Harbor
This is a place threatened by development. we have worked hard with a variety of partners to protect this place which offers a variety of habit for pollinators, birds, and rare plant species.  This is one of the few sand barren habitats on the Outer Harbor.  for more on the Bell Slip CLICK HERE
